Baby bunnies also suffer from health problems.

If they are not kept warm they can die of hypothermia or develop respiratory problems, these problems in bunnies are some of the most difficult to treat and are very dangerous.

If  mommy has Ecuniculi (don't know what it is? see here), it is very likely that all her babies will also have this fungus and sooner or later it will show itself.

Babies that are taken away from their mums too early and are not cared for tend to have gastrointestinal problems throughout their lives and when they are young, their system is not yet mature enough to eat pellets, greens and even in some cases fruit and vegetables, the mother's milk and even cecotrophs are what help the baby rabbit's system to mature and adapt to these foods.

 Coccidiosis is also very common in babies and if it is not treated in time it can kill the baby rabbits (never heard of it? see here).

Never forget that you should not self-medicate an adult bunny and even less a baby bunny, his whole system is very delicate and he is still getting used to everything.

The longer a bunny is with its mother in good sanitary conditions and a calm environment, the better its chances of being healthy, sociable and having a full and long life.
