Fruit

Although it have a lot of sugar and as a general rule we should not eat them, we can eat fruit.

But it has to be once in a awhile.

It is very important not to have stones, seeds or pips, as these are usually fatal for us.

In summer, so that we drink more water, you can give us fruit with more water, like watermelon, which is not too sweet and has a lot of water.

Another trick that you can do when we are not drinking enough water is to put a little bit of juice in the water, that way it will make us want to drink more, but it is only a little bit, it is not to crush half a melon and mix it in a small bowl of water, just a tiny triangle, just to give flavour. 

Another trick with fruit for those rabbits who are more particular about hay is to spray the hay with fruit juice,for example,you can cut a small piece of apple,make it into a juice,mix it with a small amount of water and then spray the hay,but be careful not to get it too wet and so as not to cause mould or mildew.

There is a myth that I want to debunk, pineapple is good, we like it, but it does not help with the fur, if someone tell you to give us pineapple or to make pineapple juice to help drain the fur, forget it, it is not true, the only thing that helps the fur to come out is hay, lots of hay and water.

In short, we can eat fruit, although little and infrequently, our favourite fruit use to the banana, so if you are going to eat a banana you know, either you run away or share it with us.

We also like dehydrated fruit, these fruits have much less water, which makes the taste much stronger, it keeps all the vitamins that fruit has, the only one that is more compromised is Vitamin C, but that is not a problem for us, because we are able to synthesize it through glucose (so you don't need to worry about Vitamin C).

So if you want to offer us a sultana on New Year's Eve you can, but only one!
