Who are we, cute bunnies , some big, others little, ears pricked or drooping, white, black, caramel or mixed, fur short or long, blue, brown or red eyes , we are all so different and yet so similar!

We are rabbits but we are not rodents (although we love to gnaw on things!), In fact our "designation" is Lagomorph and we are Leporids, and what differentiates us from rodents is the fact that we have 4 incisors in the upper jaw one thing that they don´t have, what means, that we have more teeth on top, then in the Leporideos part we also distinguish ourselves by the long hind legs and ears, in addition we are herbivores , something that rodents don´t always be and as herbivores that we are in our diet there are not  things like bread, crackers or those things that you humans like to eat, for us it's hay , hay, lots of hay and good greens!

We live in Burrows under the ground with several galleries, however in the human house this is difficult so a "little house" where we can hide when we are most scared is ideal, we love to dig soon if we can have a place to do it we will be very, very, very happy!

We like to run and jump and if you let us we reach 70km/h (for this you were not waiting!), But it is not always, we usually do more "sprints" and then lie down to rest.

When we are happy we jump, they are called Binkies if you can record and view in slow motion you can see that we jump and shake us all, sometimes the enthusiasm is such that landed facing in the opposite direction that appens because we are very happy!

However, we also have a habit of making jumps when we "argue" among ourselves, when we don't like any animal, human or we feel threatened, but these jumps are different , they are usually high and straight jumps, basically it is to look like we are bigger for enemies. It is important  try to understand if our jumps are joyful or not, as there may be situations in which we are not enjoying anything that is going on and you think we are enjoying it.

Another way to show that we are relaxed and happy are the so-called Flops , you know what it is?

It is actually when we throw ourselves to the ground as if you had shot us, pum! and we fall sideways, sometimes we even have our paws up, that means we are really relaxed, happy and above all confident with the environment we are in.

Our body language is very important, because it will be through it that you will understand what is happening with us, if you have already seen that when we are happy we jump or throw to the ground , we also do it. bothered by something or someone, you need to be on the lookout for very subtle signs, but that will be discussed later.

We are not daytime or nocturnal animals , in fact it is at the end of the day and at dawn that we are most active, now ... we often like to do "things" at night, such as digging, running, jumping, changing the decoration of our burrow ...

We are cute , but we don't like anything lap or move us a lot, just like you some of us have a bad temper, I mean ... we have a strong personality !

So, before you take  one of us as a member of the family, read everything very well, see very well if you have space and conditions, because we give work and are expensive !
